dear reality,
we create interactive sound design and develop audio software for VR
Dear Reality,
we develop interactive applications focussing on audio design. With our dearVR 3D audio reality engine (suitable for all platforms - Unity, VST, iOS, Android, Win, OSX, Linux) we provide a new experience for gameplay and narration. Whether interactive sound design for games or virtual reality or linear productions, like radio plays or audio guides – with 3D Audio implemented by dearVR hearing becomes listening.
39 WDR HörSpiel
39 is a mystery thriller in two versions - an interactive audiogame for iOS and Android devices and a linear radio play. For listening and playing.
Step into a mysterious world between memory and a threatening reality. Within the app you navigate by touch. Your actions can open up new story levels and evoke Richard Hannay’s memories. Because the key to the mysterious events you’re witnessing seems to lie in the past. Immerse yourself in the world of 39 - with suggestive 3D sound for headphones. Discover additional scenes and information to solve the mystery. 39 is a new way of audio storytelling. Additional to the traditional radioplay, the audiogame is supplemented with visuals and interactive features to make it an immersive experience.

With over 80,000 downloads the app was a great success and mentioned as one of the best apps in the Apple App Store in January 2015. It is nominated for the German Computer Game Award 2015 as best narrative game production. It will also be part of the exhibition "Archaeology of the future - Art and Games" in Munich from April 21st to June 14th - alongside games like "Limbo" (Playdead Studios), "Journey" (Thatgamecompany), "Dear Esther" (The Chinese Room) and "The night journey" from Bill Viola.

dearVR 3D audio reality engine
The dearVR 3D audio reality engine virtualizes all different kinds of acoustic settings with in depth realism to be used in audio production for virtual reality, games, 360° video, music and many more.
The dearVR technology works with any pair of headphones and produces a realistic, three-dimensional sound space around the listener. Just like natural listening, one will hear sound sources outside of the head with a genuine feeling of distance and directional reference. Further demos and infos on
